| About Me | ||
I started my career as an archeologist in Istanbul, in 1996, but soon realized I was more interested in delving deep into the human psyche than past lives buried underground. Prior to coming to San Francisco, I lived in London for three years, where I went to graduate school in Psychology. During my studies at the Metropolitan University, I worked at the Northover Mental Health Support Center with patients, and at the Deptford Center on Hearing Voices Project for mainly Schizophrenic patients. After I moved to San Francisco, I continued my studies and received my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies. During this time, I worked at the Haight Ashbury Psychological Services with individuals from diverse backgrounds in terms of age, ethnic background and level of functioning. Currently I am working in private practice and I am in the process of fulfilling the requirements for the state of California License in Marriage and Family Therapy (IMF #55049) and I am being supervised by Catherine Morris, MA, MFT. #MFC 36386 I am bilingual and conducting therapy in Turkish and in English. I work with individuals, couples, families and groups on issues such as depression, relationship issues, anxiety, cultural adjustment, destructive patterns and life transitions. I value the importance of innate potential for growth. By removing obstacles, I try to provide the best conditions for individuals to heal and grow. I help people to understand who they are right now, who they can become and how they can change. My purpose is to help people to develop strengths and skills that will help them overcome their problems. |
