Group Therapy

Group therapy is a form of counseling where five to ten people meet with a therapists and talk about the issues troubling them. The group may be specifically designed for certain group of people such as women, adolescents, men or it may be designed to discuss certain issues such as depression, anger management, pregnancy. An important part of group therapy is that members give feedback to each other by expressing their own feelings about what someone says or does. Members work to establish a level of trust that allows them to talk personally and honestly.

During group therapy, people begin to see that they are not alone and that there is hope and help. It is comforting to hear that other people have similar difficulties, or have already worked through a problem that deeply disturbs another group member.

Group sessions are 90 minutes long and usually held once a week or more.
